How To: Reuse Your Norden Candle
Our candles are designed to be reused and repurposed, prolonging their life in your home. We frequently are asked about the ceramic candles' food and dishwasher safety — and we're always happy to share that the glaze we use is optimized for both. Below, we've outlined a few tips to prep your vessel for a new life...plus, shared a few of our favorite ways to repurpose the Norden 12 Oz. Ceramic Candle.
How to repurpose your vessel
--
1. Once you've burned your candle through, place the vessel in the freezer. The cold temperature will help you easily remove the excess wax left at the bottom of the vessel.
2. With pliers, a scraping tool, or your fingers, remove the metal wick tab and sticker at the bottom of the cup.
3. Wash thoroughly with hot water and soap. To ensure that no fragrance is left behind, run through the dishwasher (if available).
4. Fill with your favorite beverage. Click below for tips.
What to put in your Norden ceramic vessel

Natural Wine
-
We're big fans of natural wine here at Norden, and always look forward to our subscription delivery from Helen's Wines. We also love stopping in to Vino Carta in San Diego or picking up wine from our friends at J. Brix.
Coffee
-
We recently purchased a Chemex and are enjoying the slower process of brewing coffee that way. You can definitely taste the difference and it encourages you to slow down for a minute in the morning (or afternoon) to enjoy it. Our favorite roasts that we have been making at home come from Heart Roasters in Portland, OR, and Onyx Coffee Lab in Arkansas.
Tea Lattes
-
Another favorite to serve in our Norden vessels is an Earl Grey Latte (or London Fog). Start with Earl Grey tea, or your preferred tea flavor, and brew in about 8 oz. of water. Add honey (we love Activist Manuka) or maple syrup to taste. Froth milk of your choice with vanilla extract and combine with the tea, then top with cinnamon.
Sparkling Matcha Lemonade
-
For an afternoon pick-me-up, squeeze the juice of one lemon into your cup. Then add one serving of matcha and whisk into a paste (you can also use an electric hand whisk/frother). Top with sparkling water and ice.
